MEMBERSHIP
- NYSSRA-Nordic, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt public charity organization under the Internal Revenue Code. A contribution beyond membership fees paid is fully tax-deductible under Section 170 of the Code. NYSSRA-Nordic works in conjunction with state and national governing bodies to support the development of Nordic Skisport in New York State. NYSSRA currently supports programs and races for the Nordic disciplines of Biathlon, Cross Country Skiing and Ski Orienteering.
-By joining NYSSRA you are choosing to belong to an organization of nordic skiers whose purpose is to promote and develop nordic skiing in the State of New York for all ages.
-NYSSRA members also get full NENSA membership. You will get an email confirming the membership and all other membership info. In order for your membership to be useful, you will need to be sure that their email address is accurately listed when you sign up at skireg.
-NENSA membership includes discounts at Eastern Cup races, Citizen Series Racing, the ability to be scored for Zak Cup (masters age group) and Club Cup titles (as long as the club has joined NENSA - form at www.nensa.net/forms), and discounts on NENSA coaching clinics.
-You can participate in learn to ski programs for youth, juniors and adults.
-You will gain representation in local, state, and national legislation affecting nordic skiing.
-You can learn the sports of biathlon, ski-orienteering and nordic combined.
-You can earn race points in club races, participate in the Empire State Winter Games and the NYSSRA Nordic Championships.
-You can participate in events that give a portion of their proceeds to local and national charities by skiing in any of the 5 races that comprise the "Wilkinson Cup".
-You will have access to club information, recommendations about skiing, people, places and products by other nordic enthusiasts.
